I use tags as easy search functionality more so than as categorical labels. Below, you will see an archive all posts that mention or refer to new features, but some posts may not center on that topic.

Progress Report

So, earlier this month I posted about my renewed interest in this blog and outlined some of the ideas I had for changes I wanted to make.  Well, I’m happy to report that I have implemented most of those changes.  If you check out the site via a web browser on a computer, it looks effing beautiful (if I do say so, myself).

Among the change’s I’ve made, my blog now includes not one but TWO snazzy icon sidebars.  On the left-hand side we have the category icon quick links, while on the right-hand side we have the slide menu that gives you quick an easy access to things like logging in and out or registering, as well as sharing to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.  These sidebars are fixed elements, which means you don’t have to scroll to find them!  Yay!

For the most part, I’m feeling pretty confident with the basic design concept, but there are little things here and there that I feel like I need to tweak.  Except for those small details, I think I’m more or less done with major changes and I can finally divert my attention to actually generating the content of pages and finding awesome topics to blog about.  So, my next goal is to come up with a good system for better managing my free time.

Under Construction

After making a rookie mistake yesterday, I ended up having to reinstall WordPress onto the server.  I feel really stupid because of it, but hey… what else can you do but rebuild?

As a result of my mistake, I seem to have lost all of my media.  So, I plan to remove the older posts (everything before A Renewed Interest in Blogging) that have images in them.  Fortunately, I haven’t lost any of my design changes, or the main text-based content.

I’ve been changing things little by little each day after work, dedicating a couple of hours each day to making the improvements.  Today I’ll be refocusing on building up content, in the form of re-uploading images and fixing blog posts that have had images stripped, and adding content to empty pages.  I’ll also be taking a look at categories and tags and making some decisions about whether I need to modify the current structure of those.

A Renewed Interest in Blogging

So, a lot’s been going on in my life lately.  Most significantly, Bob and I moved into a bigger place, which we can afford because I now have a really awesome job.  Even though I work from home, you’d be surprised how much time 40 hours every week really is, even without the commute.  Not to mention that we’re still getting settled in.  (Our closets are full of unpacked boxes.)

However, I’m absolutely determined not to sacrifice my personal goals and creativity.  I have also recently come to the conclusion that iCloud is my best friend, now that I have an iPhone and an iPad.  The organizational tools like Calendar, Reminders and Notes are going to keep me on track with some of my personal goals with my various websites (obviously including this one), as well as writing my novel and getting back to my digital art.

Its because I’m so excited about a lot of the changes going on in my life that I want to give Auridesion.com a new look.  I’ll be devoting time each week to various tasks I need to complete on the website, and I’ll be using my favorite new iPad app, Paper by Fifty Three.  Here are some of the ideas I’ve got regarding color scheme and layout:
